How can spirituality be used in the treatment of substance use disorders?
According to research conducted BY Ac wellness Recovery Center, Spirituality provides perspective, meaning, and purpose to life, a total restoration of what addiction or substance abuse take away, growth, wonder, awe, and the ability to be our true selves.
Surrender and acceptance are also building blocks of recovery, and through spirituality, we can let go of self and find this sense of interconnectivity and belonging.
Spirituality helps us live in the moment and become mindful of self and our impact on our environment and those around us. WE find people that use substance, disconnect from God.
This separation causes people’s suffering because they fail to live according to God’s will or direction. Therefore, recovery consists of establishing or re-establishing a connection with God and our loving pastoral team will help you to reconnect to your spirituality.
